I really want to move to Sydney, and ideally within about 6 months or so. I would love to be able to live there permanently, although I know the whole visa thing isn't easy.
The kind of work I do is fairly specialised (or atleast it will be, as I'm on a course at the moment which will give me extended skills) as it's to do with 3D and high end graphics stuff.
What i'm thinking of doing is getting a year working Visa, and then getting work out there in this field, with the hope that a company will eventually sponsor me. Is this crazy thinking? It's the only way I can see that i might be able to get out there anytime soon, as I don't have enough points (close though) to get a skilled visa.
Anyway, my plan may be a shot in the dark, but I am hoping it may work...!
Thanks. I guess i'm just wondering if this is a route anyone has actually successfully gone down before, or if i don't stand a chance?! I don't know how complicated the process is for a company to sponsor someone who is in the country on a working holiday Visa.
As always with such a strategy, the key will be finding that employer who is happy to sponsor you ...
Best regards.

Thanks Alan. I did think the year working Visa would be a great opportunity for this. Although it's often viewed as more of a holiday time than anything else, it strikes me that given I do not have enough points to gain a skilled Visa, the year will give me a great opportunity to get temporary work in my chosen field, demonstrate my skills and make an impression. Obviously there is no guarantee, but i wouldn't get this chance any other way.
