Does anyone know what you need to do if you have already sent off your application for a Visa but by the time you actually are ready to go to Oz you have had another baby? Surely you don't have to apply again? Is there some kind of amendment that you can do and if so, do you know how it can be done and at what cost? Thanks
If you have a baby while it's still being processed then you could get the baby's birth certificate and passport and add it to the application. You would need to fill out a change of circumstances form (might be form 1022??) and then do the medicals for the baby. There's no charge for adding the baby.
If you've already had the medicals then be careful. If the visa is granted there is no way to add the baby after it's done. In this case you would have to apply for a separate child visa. So if you are currently pregnant you could either try and get the visa and then be in Oz in time to have the baby. Or.... you would have to delay you visa application until the baby is born. Ideally you'd postpone the medicals and once the baby is born add it to the application and do the medicals together.
I hope that all made sense. I'm not trying to confuse you, it's just that you haven't mentioned whether you're pregnant or not or what stage you're at in the visa process. Or for that matter, which visa you've applied for.
I'm facing the same problem, can someone give me a proper answer. I applied under skilled visa migration in Jan 2008 and meanwhile i discovrd that i'm pregnant. probably i'll be called for a medical test in anothr 4-5 months. but since im pregnant nw, no where i can sit for a medical test until the baby's born.
as u mentioned, can i delay the medical test til the baby is born? how can i do that?
but there after will they take a long time to process the delayed medical test or will they complete it and send the PR within a 1 month time as usual?
You could delay by either sending a change of circumstances form to let them know you're pregnant and can't do the medicals yet.
Or... you could just wait until you get a case officer and they request the medicals. You could then contact them and tell then you need to delay until the baby is born. Once you've done the medicals you send them off and it will take the same time as usual. I would get the whole families done at once because there's no point in doing them early if the baby will be done later.
but since im pregnant nw, no where i can sit for a medical test until the baby's born.
You can do the medical test while you are pregnant - but not the x-ray (although strictly speaking you can have an x-ray but it would have to be your decision along with your GP's OK despite the risk to the baby being smalll).
