Hi

Would need Alan to answer this one, I thought dependents were under 18? But I may be wrong, hopefully alan will pick up this thread!

Good luck

Please could you give me some advice. We have got to the last hurdle with my husband being sponsored by recruitment co and were told we had to go through certain immigration agent which we did,but they are not very good when we ask questions,we have spent a lot of money and have got to the last hurdle with my mum, dependent relative, we were told by agent only my kids needed medical, I did qeiry this but on the day of medicals for kids we had a email asking my mum to have one as well. so she is booked in in Nov. Apparently the assesser has asked for her to have one. She is a very fit lady but has clocoma and high chlorlestoral which is both intact with tablets & drops, please Alan can you tell me if this will fail us.?

Hello Jeanette.

I'm afraid I can't give you a categoric answer on this, as I don't know how she is dependent on you. If because of illness or because she is infirm (unlikely given your posting) she might be deemed to be an undue cost to the Australian taxpayer.

If she isn't then she might not be considered to be your dependent.

You should pin down your agent and ask him or her for a definitive answer. Indeed, this issue should have been dealt with up front before you embarked on the visa application process.

Best regards.
