As an applicant who is on the "Old" SOL, GSM 175 without any special sponsorship:
We have seen this in 2009 when CSL was introduced, and we continue to see it now in 2010 when new SOL is introduced, In 2009 we were pushed to "Lowest priority" number 7, and now in 2010 we are pushed to "Lowest priority" number 4.
The problem is that applicants from this priority level are not being processed at all!!!, as far as i see what DIAC is doing is processing only from the upper priorities and never will get to the lower one as there always will be applicants from the upper ones in the queue, even if they submitted the application 1 week ago, it will be processed before a 3 years old "Old SOL" application.
Are they just holding us back until they can cap/cease us all ? will we ever see real processing of "OLD SOL" applicants?
In reply I can only say that it is certain that if you withdraw your visa application you will not be granted a visa.
It may well be a long wait though.
Best regards.

Hi, my occupation ASCO code is 2231-79 as C# Specialist and I added my application on 15 January 2010. I don't know that CO allocated to my application or not. I send enquiry on 11th July 2010 and the resposne was :
" Thank you for your email in relation to your visa application under Australia's General Skilled Migration program. At present your application is undergoing routine processing. Unfortunately, ensuring all the legal requirements are met in relation to an application can take some time. The case officer is following up on the status of your application on a regular basis to ensure it is being processed as soon as practicable. You will be contacted if we require additional information to process your application. We appreciate your patience in this matter. "
According to new priorities, and I'm from HR country , do you reckon my application is safe ?
Cheers Aidin

If your occupation is on the new SOL I anticipate that your application should continue to be processed without interruption.
Best regards.
