I have a full teaching qualification (4 years B.Ed (Hons)), but for the last few years have been working in IT. Now it seems to me that it might be easier to get my teaching qualifications accredited than to have to deal with the ACS (Australian Computer Society) and get references for the past 6 years IT experience.

Am I right in thinking that I can nominate Secondary School Teaching (and get it's 60 points) as my nominated occupation, but have my last 12/18 months work experience in programming - another 60 point SOL?

Hmmm, not completely sure if your IT would count as "experience", although we both know it's extremely relevant to teaching today! You could try contacting NOOSR (e-mail noosr@dest.go.au) and they'll send you a standard reply, with some more e-mails at the bottom which you could use. You'll have to apply to NOOSR anyway, to get your BEd certified. (I'm currently finding out all my old folders to get evidence to recognise my PGCE and it's driving me mad). You'll then have to send the certified stuff onto DIMIA and wait around for about 20 months to see if its approved! Good luck!! Confused
