Please could anyone shed a little light for us before we both go totally mad.
The visa that we are appling for is the Temporary Business Long Stay, as Ian has been offered a job in Perth.
Regarding Certified Documents, eg - Births, Marriage certificates, etc that are required by DIMIA.
The Australia. org.uk web site states quite clearly what needs to be copied and then "marked and dated " by either a Solicitor, JP, or Notarty Public - easy you would think eh?!!!
I have spoken to a Notary Public today and he advises that they can not perform this function anylonger, as per Home Office instructions in 2001.
Can anyone please tell us, just who can stamp and verify our documents.
Incidently, we have already posted our required documents to Perth hand verified and hand signed by a Justice of the Peace.
It seems that the DIMIA in Perth need to see a rubber stamp!!!??? regards Ian and Jackie
We applied for the 457 visa on 22/3/03 and our docs-marriage cert birth certs etc were signed as true copies by a solicitor Our agent said this was o.k hope this helps
