Does anyone know if I can get visas in person from the Australian High Commission in London, or do we have to post off our passports. We have just received our application approval (yippee!), although it took a little longer than anticipated. Therefore we need to get moving straight away, rather than wait the 10 days or so for the visas to be processed by post. Would appreciate any information. Sorry as far as I know you have to send them via Royal Mail. Send them via special delivery and include an envelope for their return (note down the tracking number if you want to track its return).
From what I've seen most people have them back with a week. I know last year I sent mine on the Monday and had the passports back with the visa's in on the Wednesday.

We sent our passport for validation last Thursday, and were advised on the grant letter that you are unable to go in person to the high commission. Hope this helps and good luck
Ended up sending them via special delivery, with a self addressed special delivery envelope inside. Posted last Tuesday - still waiting! Will let you know when we get them. Regards Gary and Family

Got the passports back Friday 14th. Flights booked, on our way to Brisbane next week. Good luck to all those still on the agonising wait! Took us 11 months in total to get visas. Regards Gary and family
