| Hi there, Like you I did an apprenticeship with BTEC qualifications. Take a look at the UK institutions ( www.iie.org.uk) and if you can register with them, then the institute of Engineers of Australia ( www.ieaust.org.au) will recognise this. The classification of grade from the IIE depends on when you received your qualifications. They have a nice document that explains it all on there website. I don't think part time working affects it. I know that Incorporated engineer status will equate to Mechanical Engineering Technologist and is worth 60. I think the continued education will only affect you if you apply to one of the institutions for membership and then you would have to show continued education and a training log / file. On the question of it taking over everyone’s life, the answer could be yes! Regards Mark H |
