Hi I have been advised by a friend who works as a recruitment consultant in Perth that i have a good chance of sponsorship from an insurance company but need to get myself out and working in Oz. She advised there is a visa that allows you to work for 20 hours a week giving employers an oppertunity to see you in action so to speak before they offer sponsorship.
Can anyone advise me what this visa is and how I can attempt to obtain this? Smile

Probably a student visa ... as a precursor to an employer sponsored visa under subclass 457 (a long term temporary residency visa), or under the ENS or RSMS (permanent residency).

If you would like to discuss student visas and visa strategies please telephone our office in Southampton on 023 80 30 2525, and ask to speak with my migration agent colleague Emma Smith-Jones.

Best regards.

A student visa is available to those aged 45 and over, if that is what you are asking.

However, if aged 45 or over a student visa does not provide a pathway to permanent residency via the skilled program, which is one of the usual reasons individuals from outside Australia enrol on tertiary education courses in Australia.

Best regards.
