Our medical was straight forward. Tests involved height and weight measurements, urine sample, blood test, eyesight test, reflex test and a general look over and questioning from the doctor. After the medical we had chest x-rays. I don't know what you could fail on but the blood test was for HIV and TB. The results of the blood test and x-ray are sent to you after but the results of the medical are in a sealed envelope which you are not allowed to open.

My husband was extremely switched on in his medical and asked whether the doctor thought that there would be any 'showstoppers' in our migration process - ie. he didn't specifically ask if we had passed the medical (I don't think they can answer that specificaly). I wasn't so switched on and so when I went back to pick up the paperwork, I acted a bit 'dippy' and expressed excitement/worry and wondered what they thought... the feedback I got was that I probably didn't need to worry. That's about all they can say I think. We went up to London for our medicals - to a place just round the corner from Harrods - it appears that they do these sorts of things all the time, so they were very well geared up and it was not too intimidating at all. I would thoroughly recommend them (and they were also one of the less expensive options too, and could do both the medical and the chest Xray at the same time). They are on the approved list and under London and probably in Kensington... just ring up and ask if they are about 200 yards (if that) from Harrods. (Oh and it's super to pop into Harrods and just wonder around!) hope that helps G
