Many thanks for that info. Having looked at the dates i.e September 2005 I think it's going to be a while before we her. Our papers were lodged on 14th Feb, for a 136 and our skill is on the demand list.
Having just read it, it looks like as your MODL that would be in the December range not September range

Hi, just to let people know we lodged our TRA in Oct, which took about 18 days if that, and then lodged the visa app for Carpenter/Joiner in November and we got the visa go ahead yesterday 18th May!!! We have until March 07 to get our new lives on the way.
Have just read your thread. Yes we do feel that we'll get there in the end, but the end seems to be taking forever. Bet you guys felt like that at times too.
What makes it worse ts that a friend of mine has just gone to Oz she arrived on the 11th Aug and emailed me today saying how great it is.
Are you guys out there yet, if so which part have you gone to?
We don't have to validate until February 2007 so are getting in one last Christmas, eeking out as many weeks in our respective IT contracting jobs as possible and very much looking forward to arriving.

Hi Steve, did you do the police checks earlier to speed up the process? Where do you get the info on which forms to fill out for the police checks? Veronica
Just to update we did hear at the end of August. Had a minor hiccup with the med results, namely I had a kidney prob 30 years ago, but my last assessment was 7 years ago so i've had to go private and have an up to date assessment which is ok and the panel doc sent the docs to Sydney on Friday. My calculations are now that we should hear an answer either the latter part of next week or beginning of the next...fingers crossed we still might be able to activate in December as we've hoped (as long as we can get a flight).
Possibly before the end of this year, but given the volume of skilled applications of late it could be closer to a 9 or 12 month wait.
Be patient though, and all should be well ...
Best regards.

Hi, My application for 136 modl was received by aspc 24/3/7. receipt email 31/5/07. However, to date i have received no acknowledgemnet or file reference number. 3 enquiry emails sent but none responded too, to date. I frontloaded both meds and pcc in end of may and have job offer, supposed to have started sept!!.
Should i be concerned?? and has anyone else met with a similar problem??. If so, I would be grateful for any advice on what to do next. Thanks

Dear BUNDYBELL, wait for some time , iam also there in a waiting list . Submitted application for BN 136 in December 2006 & medical sent in Sept 2007 Wait for the reply & magic mail to my mail ID Thanks & Regards Anil
I have just sent my regular blank e mail to; aspc.processing@immi.gov.au
which has returned a new message which I have copied below. It appears the new critical skills list will have quite an impact;
Applications are now being allocated as follows:
State & Territory Nominated Applications: Subclass 134, 136, 137, 175, 176, 475, 487, 495, 885 and 886 applications (processed by the ASPC and where a successful State or Territory Nomination is held) will all be allocated to case officers for assessment by 13 February 2009.
Applications with Occupations on the Critical Skills List: Applications are not being allocated at present
Applications with Occupations on the Migration Occupations in Demand List: Applications are not being allocated at present
All Other Remaining Applications Applications are not being allocated at present
I'm sending in my medical results and police clearance certificates this month (June 2009)for a 176 visa as a life scientist nec ASCO code 2113-79. Have you any idea when my visa might be ready?
I got my visa in Sep'07 and since then I am not going through the process of visa timings etc. so frankly speaking, I wouldn't be able to tell you. At that time, it was taking around 12 to 14 months under Independent visa i.e. Subclass 136. Wish you all the best in your endevours !
I phoned Adelaide immi last week. We have also just been called for medicals. she estimated 6 - 8 wks from date of appointment to clearance. Thats from the UK so includes courier time. I dont know how much longer until the visa is granted.
