Hi Alan
Can you offer some direction.
I have an degree and I'm just about to finalise my PGCE in July, I'm going to be a Primary Teacher. Can I apply for a skills assessment once I've passed my courses, how long would this be valid for and when could I apply for skilled visa to get into Melbourne?
Many thanks

I think the details here should answer your questions in relation to the skills assessment.

If you would like to discuss matters more fully can I suggest a call to our office in Southampton on 023 80 488777 - ask for Marina Towner.

Best regards.

Best regards.

To get teacher skills assessment by NOOSR you need 1 years experience actually teaching. I've just done my skills assessment as a pre-primary teacher and remember this from doing my form. I was working part time as a supply teacher when we decided we wanted to try for a visa and found I needed to work full time for a year to satisfy both NOOSR and the basic requirements for the visa we want. Do the year, it passes quickly and then you'll be in the same situation I find myself in - the big wait.. Good luck. Of course the agents might know a way aound this so speak to them aswell.

Well I'm looking at getting a job, lots of one year contracts about BUT last one I applied for there was 150 applicants Eek. So competition is HOT.
One year seems a LONG time but not getting a job will push it back further, hubby is desperate to get over there befoer he's 38 for some reason lo (35 now almost 36)
Would love to be out in Aus now still missing it from last time we went out there Frown hopefully we can find some loop hole...
