Can anyone advise which form/s we need to submit to the DIAC to change the authorised contact person from that of our agent to ourselves? I have picked up the change of circumstances form and there is another one 956 to change migration agent details? Do you submit both or just one?

Also, has anyone done this before and apart from a delay on the process of changing the details on your file, did it make any difference?

Just out of curiosity, why do you want to change from your agent?.

I am using an agent and visa was lodged in Dec 2007, however, my agent recent told us she was leaving her company and told us we could go it alone.

I got the feeling she may have been sacked from the tone of the email she sent.

Anyway, I decided for now to remain with the company she worked for and am waiting for them to appoint a new agent at the end of this month.

Some friends of mine did this recently because the RMA they were using let them down. The ASPC were in charge of the proceedings. They told my friends to submit Form 956 only.

Which makes sense. You would only need Form 1022 as well if your circumstances have changed.

As a matter of courtesy you should send Form 956 to the relevant DIAC office and then send a copy to your ex-Agent as well.

If you are changing Agents, I would expect your new Agent to do all this for you, to save you any embarrassment with your ex-Agent.
