I have already lodged 103 visa application but now I realize that I can apply my parents for 804 Aged Parent Visa in 3 to 5 years time.
Is it possible that after 5 years, assuming that my parents are in Australia as tourist that we cancel the 103 visa and apply for 804 instead, would they question our intention? Or is it better to cancel the 103 application now?

Also, another question is if you change your application to another another kind of visa, like let's say from 103 visa to 143 CPV, is that the same as canceling the 103 visa and have to pay again for the initial application fee for 143 CPV?

If your parents change their minds about which Parent visa they want, they would have to make a whole new application, including paying a new 1st Instalment and the 2nd Instalment would be charged at whatever the rate for that is at the time when the new application is made.

In your first message, you say that you think your Parents could apply for a sc 804 Aged Parent Visa in 3-5 years time. Why would they have to wait for 3-5 years before doing this, please?

What if the law changes during the 3-5 years so that the possibility of changing their minds becomes blocked? It could happen and I don't think it is safe to assume that it would not happen.

Therefore is there a compelling reason for waiting, please?

When did they apply for their sc 103 visas, please?
