I'm getting ready to apply for a 12month holiday Visa, I have plenty of family living in Melbourne and will be staying with them for some of the duration along with working.
Does anyone know if it is possible to apply for a full time Visa within Australia, incase I decide to stay for good? Any help will be appreciated.
Yes, you could apply for a permanent skilled visa (for example) when you are in Australia, and if your relatives are close to you - ie cousins, uncle/aunt, etc - the 139-Skilled Designated Area Sponsored visa (which is NOT points tested) could be an option for you.
Note though that you must have recent work experience in a skilled occupation when lodging a skilled visa => you should consider applying soon if a skilled visa is a possibility for you as your work when you are in Australia on a WHM visa probably won't be skilled (in the context of a skilled visa that is).
Hope this helps.
