Does anyone know if it is possible to "transfer" a 457 from one partner to another?

My wife has a job offer with a 457 visa that we are going to take up (with me noted as her partner). However, I am also looking for a role with a 457 visa and if successful I would like to apply and have my wife as the secondary person. We would like to have our visa associated with my role rather than hers.

Does anyone have any experience of this?

Thanks,

Chris

Hello Chris.

You cannot "transfer" a subclass 457 visa.

Rather, a new subclass 457 application would be made, and if granted would overwrite any existing 457 visas.

If you would like to discuss further feel able to telephone our office in Southampton on 023 80 30 2525 - I would ask for my colleague John Sylvester.

Best regards.
