Hi Everyone,

This is my first comment,I have been visiting the site since July this year. We lodged our application with the TRA approx 3 weeks ago,and yesterday we got a YES. My husband has gone under the General Electrican 4311-11 code. I am so happy and now we can move on to the next stage. Does anyone know how long the next stage will approx take.

Regards

Hi, I hope you can help me. I am about to apply for my trade assessment too. I am just a little unsure as to exactly what is needed in the application.

Firstly what exactly is a "Certified Copy" is this just a photo-copy of my original certificates or do i need to get copies from City and guilds or the JIB?

I have statements from my employers, but I am not sure about what evidence i need to supply to the TRA with regards to my work experience. I dont have my old JIB diary from when i was an apprentice.

On the application leaflet paragraph 3.8 states:-

"General statements provided by you, employers or training institutions will not be sufficient". So what exactly DO they need?

This has worried me a lot, I dont want to throw away $300 but moreover i dont want my application to fail at the first hurdle.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. We holidayed in Australia last year to make sure it was what we really wanted, and now we have the cash saved, we just want to get things right.

Thanks in advance

Steve.

Steve,

Firstly a certified copy is a photo copy which has been signed by a solicitor.

With regards to your work experience my husband put everything he had ever used at work ie screwdriver, screws, testing equip etc. We put hrs of work from being an apprentice to a fully qualified electrican, also how much he was payed.

We payed $500 and it took 3 weeks for a yes on the TRA.
