Hello

My husband was born in Australia, but his family moved to the US when he was 7. We are now planning a trip to see his 'home country'. We are planning on coming in October 2003 and staying for about a year. We would love to find a job for a good part of the time and then travel for a few months.
He just wants to live there for awhile, but we aren't sure what a good place to settle or try to find work would be. He is a citizen, which should help with the job prospects, but even then we aren't sure what the employment rates are etc...
I was just wondering if anyone had any advice on a good area to try and find work and an affordable place to live.
Or if anyone has any advice to us as we prepare for our move to Australia!
