Hi folks, Just a query regarding the medicals got them booked for april the 5th and recieved information letter off medical people today and it say's that a examination of women's breasts and men's groin for hernias and testicular lumps is required as anyone had medicals recently and is this info correct, and we booked the medicals in trethomas south wales and has anyone had them done there and what are they like. THANKS FANCYFELLA AND THE TRIBE (VICTORIA BOUND SEPTEMBER GOD WILLING) P.S. YOULL NEVER WALK ALONE
We have just had our medicals (21st Feb 2006) and I didnt have my breasts checked, but my hubby had the cough test BUT, the Dr checked this by putting his thumb and finger on his stomach (belt area) and he just coughed!! From what I can gather, all the medicals are much of a muchness, but some people have more checks than others! My friend had her medical and had breasts checked, bent over and spine checked and her partner had the full "cough and drop" or is that "drop and cough!!!" Dont worry though it is not half as bad as you are expecting!! I guess it just depends which Dr you get and where you have it done!!
Good Luck!!

Different doctors interpret the quidelines in their own way. I went to nottingham for ours and the letter did mention breast examinations but the doctor didn't do this and hubby didn't have to do a drop 'n' cough.

I think its at the doctors discretion. We had our medicals done about a month ago and I had a breast examination - I am 31 with no history of any type of cancer in the family. I was examined by a male doctor which I didn't feel very comfortable with, but he had a female nurse present while he did the examination.
My boyfriend had his groin examined also. Apart from that the medical was very relaxed - nothing major to worry about.
