Hi everyone!!

I have just sent our Skills assessment paperwork off to Go Matilda...at last...

My wife Liza and I dedcided last September that we wished to go to Australia but didnt think we needed to do much about it as she had only started her second year of a four year college course. She is studying to be a Homoeopath and all going well will finish June 2005.

I spoke to John at Go Matilda last September and he suggested we start going forward straightaway, little did I know it takes so long (and I'm not the fastest at getting things done!). After various mails to Alan we started on the skills assessment application.

Anycase skills assessment paperwork is now winging its way across the globe soon to arrive with Glenn.

any ideas how long it takes the skills to be assessed, mine are being done by the TRA....???

on reading through this forum I can see lots of anxious people getting stressed etc, I know how you feel Frown , its not like my family and I have to rush but i wish I had the answer yesterday, it seems like your life goes AWOL.

Has anyone any ideas why the time for skilled independent visa application time has jumped from 55 to 89 weeks? and the number granted dropped?

anycase I'll shut up before none one else gets a look in. good luck everyone Smile

Hi Obiwan,

Can I just ask who told you about the timescales going up for skilled independant visa and the amount be granted dropping, as the Migration minister only ususally sets this I think in May ? and Alan said that the average timescale is 46 weeks for skilled independant visas. On my Acknowledgement it says 50 weeks?

Thanks

Carrianne

I've just realised that the 18 March is today and Sue will be winging her way across to Oz - how exciting!
