Hi my step-daughter has just visited us and now wants to emigrate, she has some experience of hairdressing but not formal qualifications. Could anyone please tell me what quals and experience she will need, or if there is a way to study over here on a student visa, so to speed up the application? We will be citizens soon and can sponser her if this helps.

For starters, have a look at the requirements for a migration skills assessment as detailed here, and particularly the UAC:

Best regards.

Thanks Alan, it looks like she will need the AQF III which it seems is equivalent to NVQ II and 3 years experience if she does the training in UK.

Am I right in thinking that if she can get a place to study here on a student visa then completes her training here, that the experience requirement will be waived if she applies for permanent residency once she has completed the Australian qualification?
