Australian employers are bringing in fewer overseas temporary skilled workers in yet another sign the global financial crisis is starting to impact on the real economy.
Department of Immigration figures for the last month show a decline in the number of employers seeking to become sponsors for overseas workers under the 457 temporary skilled workers program.
The figures also show a drop in the number of actual 457 visa applications.
