The migrants in this financial year's intake are expected to deliver an estimated $829 million net benefit to the federal budget in their first year, rising to $1.16 billion in their second year, according to Access Economics modelling.
Immigration Minister Chris Evans, who will release the modelling today, says it dispels the "myth" that new migrants put a huge cost on the taxpayer.
Skilled migrants have a particularly positive impact, the modelling shows.
