Although Australia is reducing its skilled migration intake because of the global economic crisis, Victoria still has shortages of special skills in particular industries across our regions which need to be filled to enable business and industry to grow.

There is a demand for doctors, nurses and other health professionals such as optometrists, radiographers and dental therapists, as well as engineers, accountants, urban and regional planners, computer programmers, scientists, pharmacists and teachers.

A delegation of four Regional Skilled Migration co-ordinators from Victoria will visit the UK to promote career opportunities available in regional Victoria, including the Grampians Pyrenees.

Our family has been invited by the vic.gov to attend one of the skilled expo's London on the weekend of 27-28 June at the London Excel centre.We will be there for both sessions over the weekend- plus other media events that are being held week commencing 21 June! We are so very excited about this opportunity.

Yes we couldn't believe our luck! All 6 of us are going back for the 22-29 June(even a promise of appearing on breakfast tv!) and then we have taken 5 days to catch up with family in the uk! We had the film crew in 2 weekends ago and the photographer too.
Yes I will say how much help we got from here! Infact Go Matilda and britvics are the only 2 sites we use!
Perhaps we could catch up when you are back?
I have just been asked to write an article for the Australian New Zealand magazine as a follow up to our story!
And all this started from answering the 6 monthly survey from the skilled migration in Vic over 3 years ago.
Now we can talk the talk and hopefully promote regional Vic as the best place to live!
