Migrants numbers reach new high in WA

The number of migrants settling in Western Australia has reached its highest level in a decade.

Figures released by the Federal Government shows more than 17,500 migrants came to WA, an increase of more than 1,300 over the previous year.

The new residents came from a number of countries, with just under 7,000 emigrating from the United Kingdom.
