Blame it on the Ashes, but it seems many Brits aren't happy calling the Gold Coast home any more.

The city is no longer a Pom's Paradise, with thousands of English immigrants returning to the mother country.

While overall UK migration to Australia continues to rise, each year almost 50 per cent opt out of their overseas adventures to head back home, with the latest figures showing almost 100,000 expat Brits worldwide turned tail last year.
