Employers will find it harder to hire low-skilled foreigners to work cheaply after the Government agreed to lift the minimum salary bosses must pay temporary workers in Australia.

The new minimum salary level for most professions has been lifted 7 per cent to $41,850. By comparison, the minimum wage for Australian workers in all fields is $467.40 per week or $24,305 a year.
