alek,
you're probably looking at around $2,000-$2,500 per month - that's not including mortgage/rental payments if you have any, school fees and expenses (private school fees are even more), your own spending money, mobile phones, internet, cable tv, council rates, car loan repayments if you have any, childcare fees, or provision for holidays. This is only allows for one family car as well.

Not including rent/mortage or car payments? just what does this include aside from food and utilities?

It depends on what sort of mortgage you intend taking on. The average interest rate here is about 7%, so a $200,000 mortgage would equate to about $1400 per month. Renting, you'd be lookng at $200-$350 per week for a decent family sized house. Car repayments - same comments as per mortgage.
