Hi Mike
The only person I would even consider going to for advice in the situation you describe is Alan Collett of Go Matilda, so you have come to the right place!
I say this because Alan is a Chartered Accountant in the UK and he is also whatever the Australian equivalent of this is, in addition to being a Registered Migration Agent of many years' standing who is very highly respected by his own peers in the Migration Agency field. His accountancy qualifications speak for themselves, so he is DEFINITELY the right man to help you with all your queries.
Don't expect it to be free, because it sounds quite complex to me, plus you may have more than one option here. But I think you would find it money well-spent.
Good luck
Gill

Hi Colin Har har. Alan is a bean-counter, chum! They don't hand over the shekel that easily! Seriously, though, Alan is more clued up about the tax & money side of the migration-game than anyone else I've ever come across, and I've never seen a post by him on the visa-side that I've felt wasn't 100% spot-on. I'm dead hard to please, so the guy must be seriously good. It is only fair to heap praise where it is due, I believe. Cheers Gill
