I don't think the new tax year will have affected the minimum salary for LAFHA.
In fact there is no minimum salary for LAFHA as such - what does exist is a minimum salary that you must earn in order to keep your 457 visa valid. This is governed by DIAC and is nothing to do with the ATO (which is why you didn't find it in their website) !
Basically if you earn $70k per year and the minimum gazzetted salary is $40k (for example) then you can only claim $30k per year in LAFHA or your visa will be invalid !

Suggest that you do a search for LAFHA within this forum - it is Living Away From Home Allowance and is only applicable to people coming to Oz on 457 visas - ie temporary residents.
