Ok so this is a complicated one...I have worked for 12 years outside of the UK and paid the equivalent of NI contributions in Germany and The Netherlands. According to the Pensions service. I would have to top up my UK NI contributions (to the tune of £3K - roughly about £320 for each year that I've missed) to safeguard those years to contribute towards a full UK state pension. So...my questions are:

1. whether or not Australia has a reciprocal pension agreement with UK i.e. would the additional contributions I make to the UK pension go towards an Ozzie pension.

2. has anyone been in a similar position and can offer some advice?

Thanks, Elain
