hi all, my wife has been offered a job as a nurse in Melbourne "wicked" and was hoping if someone could give me some info on transferring money over to aus. We have hopefully just sold how house "touch wood" and was hoping to leave some of the funds from the sale of the house over here, depending if it is in our best interest, also my wife recieves a monthly pension of around £300 per month. Any information would be appreciated on how we go about transferring money/pension etc to aus

Cheers

G'day Troy

It sort of depends on the type of pension. My wife gets a pension as a result of an accident at work many years ago while she worked for the NHS. She continues to have it paid into a UK account and we use it as spending money while back in the UK. If we want any of it while in the UK we just go to an ATM, put the card and pin number in and withdraw cash. Nationwide have no transfer charges and give greay rates.

We also had contributory or savings pension plans and with those jyst transferred the money over and put it into our superannuation fund.
