Hi all.
Just used a cost of living calculator at
http://www.homefair.com/homefair/servlet/ActionServlet?...ename=199&internal=T

It turns out I would need a salary of around 22000 a year to match my english wage.
Does anyone know roughly what a skilled bricklayer is earning around Perth at the moment ,or of any sites where i can find out?

Thanks for any replies.

All the best

Jon

Brickies in Perth are in such demand that they are getting a little over a dollar a brick laid. How many bricks can you lay in a day?

Wow
Thanks for the reply Paddy.
It depends how I'm working and who with, what type of work etc as to how many I can lay in a day.The best our 2 and 1 gang has laid in a day so far is 2700.This was on straight factory walls with no windows. The stupid thing is we were on 140 a day daywork at the time!
Made the subbie about 600 quid.Damn fools.
I suppose if I was working totally alone, mixing, loading and laying,I would lay about 400-500 a day which looks like a decent living if the boom lasts till i get there.
Anyway,thanks again Paddy.
If you've got anymore interesting Perth info,I'd love to hear it.

All the best

Jon
