We're moving from Holland to Australia within a few month. We have some savings in Euros and we want to transfer it to our Australian bank account. However the Australian dollar is very expensive at this moment compared to the Euro. What should we do? Should we wait or transfer as soon as possible?

I would wait if I was you as I am planning a property buy, best to save with interest from a bank until the exchange rate goes back up which it will due to the American dollar being so flappy at the moment. I reckon in 3 to 4months the Aussie Dollar will have dropped again. Hope all goes well for you mate.

Rob, interested to know why you think the £ would go up against the AUS $ ?

I don't know about the Euro, but I am expecting the A$ to strengthen against the £. As UK interest rates are expected to drop soon.

We're moving from Holland to OZ in a few months too and had the same concern. On the other hand if we wait too long the aussie dollar might go even lower and then we would lose money.
ps: What mover if any are you using?
