Can anyone tell us what income tax to expect to pay on our UK old age pensions when we settle in Aus on CPV's. It would be tax free in UK, paid into our British bank account and transferred to Aus when the exchange rate is favourable.
Feel able to send me a PM or email if you would like some assistance with tax returns in the UK and/or Australia, etc - click on my name to the left of this posting.
Best regards.

My parents will also only have their UK pension and a very small private pension when they come to Australia on a CPV and it seems this small amount will be taxed here where it isn't in the UK. This means they won't have much to live on, certainly the amount after tax will be less then an Oz Aged pension. We understand that they will not be able to claim an Australian pension for 10 years (well, given their ages that probably means never). Does anyone know if there is a sort of pension credit or 'top up' that they might be able to claim after being here 2 years?
