Just get a leter from your insured stating how many years you have. You generally cannot get this until you cancel your UK policy just before you leave.

It might but don't rely on it, because it could be 12 moths old and you might have had an accident within that time.
To be on the safe side get a letter from them when you cancel your policy, stating you are accident free and what your no claim bonus is, or just risk it.

The best way to gain maximum benefit from the Australian insurance companies is to get proof of your last 6-7 years insurance,as well as any no claims you might have acrued. When we arrived in Brisbane,Suncorp Metway asked for proof of our insurance policies held,not no claims discount. We received the maximum discount as 5 years continual insurance in the UK will give you this.
