Hi All,

I have a question in regard to the need to fill out tax forms. In order to obtain a PR visa I will have to make the $100,000 investment in Australia. If all goes well I will have the visa shortly. Having said this, I have a work contract in my home contry that I would like to honor which could take up to another 2 years. So I hope to go to Australia quickly and validate my visa then return home for 2 years before I take up residency. I am wounder if anybody knows what my obligations are in regard to filling tax forms are in this situation.

THX

As far as I can understand it it's a question of residency. If you lodge bond and then just validate your visa you haven't become resident in Oz and therefore not liable for Oz tax.

So remaining in the UK makes you liable for tax in the UK and not in Oz since you haven't taken up permanant residency.
