I have been in duscussion with my employer concerning changing my 457 to a PR visa.
They paid all the application fees concering the first and would like to split the second visa application fee 50/50. We are using an agent so I am looking at a bill of around $3,500.
They also want to lock me in to stay with them for a further 18 months after which I will be 'free' so to speak.
Do you think that this is a good deal? What are your experiences of being helped with visas from companies?
What you have said is not uncommon. I suppose it depends on how much you want PR and if this pathway is your only way of getting it.
I got my ENS visa in a similar away although my employers paid for all of my ENS application and locked me in for 2 years but on a reducing percentage after the first year.
However they had not done my 457 visa - that was done by another company.
