Amongst many of the things still to do is write our wills. Will they remain valid and is there anything to include which is specific to Australia? We are thinking of doing them ouseselves. Is this likely to be a problem?

This is a question of whether a UK Will is recognised under Australian law so that the executors are given the required authority to dispose of Australian situated assets.

In my view this is not an exercise to be undertaken without professional advice - I recommend discussing this with a solicitor in QLD as well as with a solicitor in the UK (assuming you will be retaining UK estate). If you need names and contact details please send me a Private Message via this forum, or an email.

Best regards.
