hello

i am just wondering if anyone can help with my querie

I just finished my first working away from home job where my employer paid a LAFHA of $700 per week on top of my net pay

does anyone know if this will get taxed when i lodge my tax return - thus reducing my return???

Hi,

My name is Ian Lindgren and I am the CEO of PayMe Australia - the premier providers of LAFHA in Australia.

If your employer paid you the $700 LAFHA as a tax free allowance which is the way LAFHA should be paid, then you will not pay tax on the amount.

You must also check that they have not listed that LAFHA payment as an allowance on your payment summary or you will lose it all! See “Avoiding Common Errors on the Payment Summary” at http://www.ato.gov.au/corporat...ent/18704.htm&page=3.
