I have just been told that I owe some money to the IR as a result of being overpaid last year. I am planning a move to Oz in the next couple of months. I have every intention of paying the money back on a monthly basis but would like to know if this will be a problem ie will it stop me leaving the country and will they accept payments from AU? am planning on keeping an existing UK account for this purpose which I will use to make payments to the IR electronically

I Don't think you need IR consent to leave the country so you could do it any way you like. They just want your money.
