We are off to Perth on a 138 in October. My husband has two jobs, both of which he can carry on doing from Australia - we wondered how it works.

Job 1 is a freelance journalism job - OH is self-employed and does a tax return here in the UK. Job 2 is an IT job with the local council, he is employed on the PAYE system (although they haven't decided whether to keep it like this or employ him on a freelance consultancy basis).

Obviously we don't want to pay tax here in the UK, I assume we'll be paying it in Oz, but does he need to register as self employed and declare the UK income that way? It's likely he'll be paid in GBP into our UK bank account.

Any advice would be welcome, as this tax lark completely baffles me! Thanks!
