Any information would be greatly appreciated on this subject? We own 2 homes in the UK (one our main residence and the other our holiday home)and we considering selling both prior to the move to Australia. Any information regarding the tax situation in the UK and Australia that can be beneficial to us. would it be an advantage to keep the second home and rent it.
The bad news: one disposal is likely to be subject to UK capital gains tax if it is sold in a tax year when you are resident in the UK.
The good news: you can plan to avoid paying this tax.
I'll be happy to advise more formally - if you are interested and would like to know costs please feel able to send me an email: alan - at - gomatilda - dot - com
Best regards.
