Here's one to throw out to the masses.

I'm an Australian Resident who used to live in the UK, I have UK\Australian dual nationality. I have been offered a job from a UK company, working 50%ish in Oz and 50%ish US, with annual visit to the UK for a month or so.

So from a tax perspective, am I better off.
1. Being paid in the UK and transfering over what I need.
2. Being paid in Oz and taking the tax hit. And could it be avoided?

any other alternatives would be considered.

Thanks to anyone who has a sensible idea.

Cheers,

Wattsy

This is an issue of your tax residency, and where the duties of your employment are performed under your contract of employment.

In short, it's likely you will need to take professional advice, and it might be worth asking your employer to pay for this advice.

Best regards.
