Is anyone in the same boat as ourselves. We are looking to emigrate to Oz but for the first year while living in OZ we are only looking to rent out our property in the UK. If for example we rented our property for say £1000 per month, what tax would we pay in the uk and in Oz and what would be left in our own pockets.?????

More details needed ... what expenses would you be claiming against your rental income? Do you have a mortgage? The net rental income (after allowable expenses) is the assessable amount.

Don't forget CGT too ... and maybe IHT in the UK depending on the value of the property, any loans secured on the property, etc (do you have a UK Will?).

I'll be pleased to advise more formally and to confirm my fees for so doing if you want to send me an email.

Best regards.
