Lafha and Base Salary

Hi , i read most of the threads related to LAFHA in this forum and got an understading of how it works , thanks to all.
I have couple of specific questions, hope someone can answer me.
Q1./ Currently i don't have LAFHA component in my package, which contains only base salary component as of now. my employer has agreed to give me LAFHA and has asked me to tell him how much I would want as LAFHA ,my question is how should i be calculating my LAFHA ? My base salary is 100k,currently i am paying $1100 pcm as rent and and $1200(estimate) pcm for food (2 adults and 1 kid)

Q2./ since i am on 457 for 4 yrs , i am eligible for taxation as a resident , is that still a possibility with LAFHA component in my package.

Q3./ If LAFHA is added to my package , will my super contribution be reduced (i.e base - LAFHA)

Thanks in anticipation
Zam

Hi Zam,

Your LAFHA would be 1200pcm plus the fixed food component for 2 adults and 1 kid - you can find this on the ato website.

AlexW - please point us to the ATO webpage to which you refer, and which supports a figure of A$1,200 per month.

Best regards.
